This section of the GTS Operating System describes the different leadership meetings we have, their purposes, and guidelines for making effective use of our sync time.

Meetings

M-Staff

• What: A meeting for EMs covering management focused topics such as organizational design, staffing, performance management
• Why: Foster organizational alignment, collaboration among EM first team.
• Who: Engineering Managers, Director
• When: Weekly - Tuesdays 15:30UTC - 30 minutes

L-Staff

• What: Domain specific cross-functional meetings (mini L-Staffs)
• Why: Efficient decision making, unblocking, and alignment across product and engineering leadership
• Who: Product managers, Staff+ Engineers, Engineering Managers, Director
• When:
  • Cells and Organizations: Weekly - Tuesdays 16:30UTC - 30 minutes, Fortnightly (APAC/AMER) - Wednesdays 23:30UTC - 30 minutes
  • Git and Gitaly: TBD
  • Groups, Projects, Teams: Weekly - Thursdays 16:30UTC - 30 minutes
  • Geo: Weekly - Thursdays 17:30UTC - 30 minutes

Protocells Standup

• What: A weekly review of progress and blockers on Protocells workstreams and dependencies.
• Why: Provide accountability, cross-team transparency, identify and resolve blockers/challenges
• Who: Technical Program Manager, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Workstream and Dependency DRIs
• When: Weekly - Tuesdays - 16:00UTC - 30 minutes

Protocells Steering Committee

• What: A weekly meeting that focuses on Protocells program strategy and direction.
• Why: Ensure alignment on program timelines, direction, and strategy.
• Who: Steering Committee Members
• When: Weekly - Mondays 16:30UTC - 30 minutes
