The Policy Engine group owns the evaluation core: how a policy’s rules run against an input and return a decision.

Mission

Own the evaluation core: how a policy’s rules run against an input and return a decision. That covers the OPA and Rego integration, the evaluation language choice, evaluation performance at agentic scale, and the sandbox boundaries that keep evaluation pure and fast.

History

This group was created in the FY27 Sec reorg as a split of the former Security Policies group. The group::security policies label history moved to Policy Management, whose charter maps more closely onto the historical scope. Policy Engine work items are retagged after the cutover.
